Seriously, that is what Lauren said, while she sat in the baby seat. Then, she put her finger up to her mouth and looked into the distance. Where do they come up with this stuff?

A day without work
Yet, Kevin still wanted to go to work. Actually, Lauren had preschool this morning, so we dropped her off at school and stopped by Kevin’s office to show off the Sprout to his co-workers. In this picture is Kev’s boss (? Maybe, I guess there’s a dotted line that may or may not be there depending on the day, it’s a long story, bwahahahah) Bryan who has a love for all things baby and actually tried to steal our newborn.
After a rousing game of pass the baby, we paused for a diaper change on Kevin’s desk where the Sprout decided to christen it with a stream of urine. It was hilarious, especially if you know how much of a germ-a-phobe Kev is at work!! Freshly diapered, we were on our way to pick up the Bean and take a trip to a local park for some play time.
Tonight, we had some playtime outside while sprout slept. I just put his sun and bug cover over his baby papasan and he was all snug and protected in his jammies.

A trip to the park
Today, we took a trip to Sibley park after GaGa & Papa left for home. Here’s a picture of Jackson and Lauren in the van together for the first time. Lauren did well, but he slept the whole time, so there wasn’t too much to bother her with. Kevin tried to teach Lauren how to pump her legs and make herself go on the swing.
The park was really hard work because both Kevin and Jackson needed a nap afterward.

A day of firsts
It was a day of firsts for all of us. Lauren’s first ride in the buggy pod (stroller side car,) Jackson’s very first stroller ride, and Mommy’s first solo adventure. We all made it back in one piece although it was so hot out I was questionable.
Also on the list of firsts. It was the first time ever we had to go under the stairs two nights in a row. That’s right, more tornados again tonight. Kevin also had his first emergency room visit as an adult. Turns out he’s just a wuss and can’t handle the pain. LOL! Seriously though, he just has the same stomach bug that Lauren and I had, except his is in his intestines. He’s on a liquid diet for a couple of days so he won’t aggravate it and then it’s back to normal.
Here’s a picture of Papa with Jackson.

1st day home
It was an eventful first day home for Jackson. Lauren caught the stomach bug I had on Tuesday (they think that is what sent me into early labor) so she was experiencing the same problems I had on Tuesday, today. A vomiting 2 year old is not what I wanted to come home to, but it is what it is, and life goes on.
This is how we spent our night…under the stairs. If you’ve ever wondered about all the great and random things we keep under our stairs, now you can see for yourself. On the right there’s a metric ton of teaching stuff (just gathering dust.) Tons of Halloween costumes on the left (this one happens to be out of it’s storage tub because we just wore it last year and the tub is buried.) Toys and a fan straight ahead. Overall, lots of fun things.
We gathered up the family (and GaGa) threw out the big things that were blocking our way (it’s never actually clean and accessible under there,) threw down some blankets and took cover while the sirens wailed. It was pretty nasty outside. Jackson slept through it all. Lauren pretty much screamed and cried until we ran upstairs for her DVD player. Fun times in the Thompson garden!
More Jackson
Here is a picture of the first time Jackson got to come to our room. He had to spend some time in the special needs nursery. We were super excited to have him with us, even if he was still tethered to an IV and an oxygen monitor.
He also had his very first visit with his Godparents (and God-brother I guess?) Hahaha
