Thanks to my Dad it is finally installed. I love love love it and the new look it gives the bathroom! He also helped me to spray paint the light fixture hardware to the new oil rubbed bronze color so I didn’t need to replace it.

Happy Easter
Nooooo, not the bunny ears!!
Here is the ONE family photo that turned out (which is debatable!!)
At least Lauren didn’t complain about the bunny ears.

Finally…
Some decent weather out there. This is the winter that will never end. We celebrated with a party in the ‘sac. Our cul de sac has lots of little children so it’s fun to see them all come out an play together. After dinner we dyed Eater eggs (at least Lauren did, Jack was disinterested…per usual.)

Easter egg hunt and party
Today, was a no school day for Lauren so she got to attend the Easter egg hunt and lunch for MOMS Club. Jack also got to attend the party, but was sent home early as he was having a hard time behaving.
Lauren had a blast playing at Gavin’s house and especially enjoyed the giant play room with the trampoline.

The little bride
I’m not a photographer, just a mamarazi who has been slacking with her picture taking lately. I’ve been wanting to do this “shoot” for awhile now. I think it was last year (or possibly 2 years ago) that I saw this on pinterest and said to myself, “this is something I need to do with Lauren!” I think these will be a wonderful keepsake for her and something that could possibly be displayed at her wedding someday. That is assuming she does someday get married. She’s so young now, but talks about being married and having her own children when she’s older. I hope she does. I hope she has the blessing of having children (no matter how they come to her) and becoming a mommy. It’s one of the hardest jobs there is and it’s difficult to not consider yourself an utter failure at it (on a near-daily basis even.) It’s also incredibly rewarding. I’m so thankful for my little beanitude. I’m not sure where I’m going with this, or if I even have a point, I just wanted to say something a bit more than, look at my beautiful daughter. Even though she is physically beautiful (IMO) I think she’s incredibly beautiful on the inside as well. She can be so kind to people when she recognizes that people need a friend more than she needs to play with one of her friends. She is very empathetic and can be so sweet (when she wants to be.)
Oh my sweet girl, I hope someday you can treasure these photos as much as I do. I hope you had fun playing world’s fanciest dress up!

I love the ‘sac
I think when we move/build if it isn’t on a large piece of land I would like it to be in a cul-de-sac. I just love the privacy it offers and the freedom to take it over (with cool neighbors of course.) Now if this blasted snow would melt so we could enjoy our spring!

Pool fun!
Jack is always a bit slow to warm up when we go swimming. Lauren, on the other hand, jumps right in (or slides) with her hands up! Today, we visited the LCARC again with our MOMS club friends. It seems the only time we visit the LCARC is with MOMS club. It isn’t a terrible long distance, but just a bit too inconvenient to make it a regular trip.
Lauren was having such a good time “surfing” on the alligator that Jack decided to give it a “try” too.
Look at those ribs on Jack….he’s totally thinning out. Perhaps it’s all those meals he says “yuck” to? (Which according to my calculations is EVERYTHING except, pizza, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter sandwich or chicken nuggets.)
They do occasionally play nicely together. :)

Happy Birthday
We woke Kevin up with some pineapple upside down cake and a rousing round of Happy Birthday as sung by the children (who absolutely love to celebrate a birthday!) Then, he was greeted by a giant green suitcase (he needed a new one as he travels and his previous two were trashed.) After cake for breakfast (yum) I instructed him to check out the inside of the suitcase to see if he liked it. Inside it, he found the iPad (that he didn’t need) that he wanted so desperately (along with a case and an industrial strength screen protector.) SPOILED! At least I’ll get the wheel the suitcase for a little bit when we go on vacation next month. Woot!

Cheez!
Jack helped me make the annual pineapple upside down cake for Kevin’s birthday tomorrow. He may look cute and helpful, but he was in fact, not. He was, however, quite helpful when it came time to lick the beaters. :)

Get Lucky (again!)
Here are Jamie and I before this years race (Gretchen and Jaci didn’t run it this year.) I was supposed to run the half-marathon but being completely out of commission since Halloween, I figured 3 weeks of occasional running was not adequate training to pull off a half and went and did the 7k instead.
I made my goal (personal goal) of under 40 minutes. So, I shaved off 2 minutes/mile for a reduction of 8 total minutes from last year to this year (woot!) Not bad for running about 5 times between Halloween and today!
Time for a celebratory bloody mary (as the place that was offering the free beer had a line, yuck!)
Here are the official details.

The indoor playground
One of Jack’s little friends just moved to a new place and has a fun indoor playground there. It’s a giant heated pole barn with AstroTurf. Inside it is a child’s delight. Jackson liked the trampoline but he loved the John Deere Gator! Holy buckets I didn’t think I’d be able to convince him to leave. He had a blast driving many of his little friends around (in circles and sometimes narrowly avoiding the walls.) It got a little hairy when he discovered high gear (ooh boy it can go FAST!) I can definitely see this on future birthday/Christmas lists!

Girls weekend
It was a long week with Kevin gone in San Fran, luckily I had something fun to look forward too this weekend for me. Last year we went away and went shopping. This year, we kept it low key and had a relaxing and fun day/night at the lake home of Amy’s parents. We went for a walk on the lake while waiting for everyone to arrive.
There was a feast and a wine tasting of which we have no photos. Then, after the people left who had to leave the hardcore ladies stuck around to spend the night. We continued the wine tasting and gave ourselves pedicures. Yes, we had to properly soak our feet first.
It was another fun time. Maybe next year we’ll go someplace exotic (which was the original plan last year, LOL!)
