Praise the Lord for some warm(er) weather. There was about to be a mass exodus of the Thompson family if it didn’t warm up soon! I personally enjoy seeing Jack in his (sister’s) winter mittens and Lauren in capri pants. Hey, they picked it out themselves.

Through the years….
The first photo in this series was taken after we first bought this outfit from Matilda Jane in 2010. This was before I attended or hosted in-home trunk shows so it was just a random cute thing I saw and bought from someone else on the boards that was hosting a show. The top is a size 4 and the bottoms are size 2. First, they fit as pants, then capris, then tighter capris and now there kind of at Bermuda short length and need to go. The shirt is also a bit snug on the tummy and short in the sleeves, but it was fine for play clothes. 4 years of wear out of one outfit. I’m fairly certain we got our $$ worth out of this set (and especially because I’m going to sell it now for around $25 USED!) Bam! The power of MJ!
One of my favorite pics of Lauren. :)

Sick sprouty
Well, it didn’t take Jackson quite as many years as Lauren to end up in the E.R. Unfortunately, upon returning from our spring break vacation up north we had to deal with a very sick Jack. He had been sick for two days at Gaga’s house and when he got home we thought he was better. We were wrong. He just couldn’t keep ANYTHING down and was miserable. So in we went to see Dr. Smentek (who he had just seen on Thursday as he was coughing really badly and I wanted to make sure nothing was wrong before leaving him for the weekend.) Turns out he had lost 5+ lbs over the long weekend and she said he absolutely had to go to the ER and have fluids administered. :( So, off we went. The Dr. in the ER ended up trying zofran to get his vomiting under control first before going the IV route and luckily that worked. We spent a few hours slowly giving him fluids again and then he finally crashed out under the warm blanket right before we got the go ahead to head home. Dr. Smentek even came over and checked on him during her lunch break (she’s just so wonderful, I can’t recommend her enough!)

Yaaay! Skiing
On a real mountain even!
We stayed in a condo On the mountain. So I was able to take advantage of the ski-in/ski-out while Kevin rested. I apparently wore him out with all that vigorous skiing (what?)
We also enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool (and no towels.) Lucky us. You can tell it was quite shocking and cold, but you got used to it.

B-I-N-G-O
We took Gregg and Chayme to the casino and made them play some bingo with us. It was their first time. Unfortunately, even us old pros were completely overwhelmed (we bought way too big of a package.) Next time we only need about half the cards so we can pay attention. :)
Yaaay Bingo!

Baby Dylan
We finally got to meet Ryan & Crimsen’s daughter Dylan. She was born like 2 days after our last visit up north. It was so nice to hang out with them and all the other people we don’t get to see enough.

Happy Birthday, Kev
We were able to make a visit to Duluth without the children as it is their spring break this weekend/week. We’re really excited to go hit Lutsen and do some real skiing.

What’s with all the food pics?
I’m not sure what’s going on. Why do I only have photos of my kids eating? Maybe it’s the only time I really have to pick up the camera, who knows? Anyhow, Lauren was enjoying a Canadian treat (although not the kinder egg I had hoped for!) Then, later tonight Lauren went to a birthday party while Jack cried he couldn’t go. He was able to wipe his tears on a delicious treat at Starbucks while we played at the mall instead. :)

Snow is melting
Today, the snow is melting and it’s not so frigid outside that we had to stay inside under a blanket. Soooo….out we went. We got to revisit our old friend who returns every spring, Lake Larson (otherwise known as the giant puddle that gathers in the low spot in front of the Larson’s driveway.)
Tonight, the kids each enjoyed a Shamrock Shake for the Ronald McDonald house. Lauren and Jack both thought it was the most delicious thing ever while they were just doing their part to help families in need!

Lauren skates with the Mav’s
Tonight, Lauren got to play between periods of the Mavericks hockey game. It was pretty exciting!!
We enjoyed watching the Mavericks pull out a win. Lauren loved watching the cheerleaders and was brave enough to say hi to one of them when they came around.

Princess crown
We had a lice scare so I was extra cautious with keeping Laurens hair freshly washed (with lice repelling shampoo) and pulled up this week. This was the result one day.

The Father/Daughter dance
I let Lauren pick which dress she wanted to wear to the dance. I was hoping she would pick the silver as it’s my favorite, but she didn’t. There’s always next year!
Lauren came home with a tummy ache. She may have overindulged.
