I just love this outfit and wanted to take a pic of Lauren in it. :)

Today, we played with the Larson’s in their giant pool. It was finally warm enough to enjoy it!
Phil put the kids to work.

Go Kart fun
Today we all had a blast riding the Go Karts! Jack is a big fan of them, while Lauren is a bit more apprehensive.

Goin’ to the zoo zoo zoo
Here we are with a week old baby giraffe. It was over 5 feet tall when it was born and weighed 150 lbs!
Here is an ostrich attacking Kevin!
It was a good day at the zoo!
The pool at the hotel was also a good time for everyone. Jack really enjoyed swimming with his arm floaties and Lauren can snorkel like a pro now!!

Last day of pre-school
Today, was Jack’s last day of pre-school for this year. He said goodbye to Pinky, the pink class mascot. He also received hugs from his two teachers. Mrs. Steele and Miss Amanda were so wonderful!! We will certainly miss them!!
He played hard at school as he passed out quite hard at naptime today. It’s pretty rare that I can walk into his room without him waking up so when I do make it in, I can’t resist a snoozing pic. He is certainly adorable and peaceful when sleeping (and usually wakes up so happy and upbeat even if he goes to be cranky!)

RADzoo
Every summer we go check out a local presentation by the Reptile and Ambhibian Discovery zoo. This time, Jack got to help hold the HUGE snake. It was an albino Burmese Python and very friendly. For some reason the big ones don’t really get to me, but the smaller ones give me the willies (unless they are behind glass, then they’re cool!)
Jack seemed to enjoy his time holding the “big snake.”

Do you wanna build a snowman?
My kids couldn’t help but sing that song from Frozen as they built a snowman with the magformers tonight. What? It’s only been like 5 or 6 days since the last snowfall, right? They can’t miss it already!!

Matchy matchy
I tried to take a selfie of all 3 of us in our matching straightee pants but failed. You can see my leg matches the kids, lol!
Poor Jack has been wearing this same sized shirt for YEARS!! I wish I could find one in a bigger size so Lauren could size up and he could have her size 4 (instead of the size 2 he’s been rocking since before his first birthday!) Meanwhile, he’s on his 3rd pair of straightee pants (at least pair number 2 and 3 were hand me downs from Lauren.) I love that there are a few things they can both wear from MJ!

Risser Run fun
Today was the annual run at Lauren’s school. Luckily, the weather was much less rainy than last year (bonus!)
Lauren has a very airborne style of running where neither of her feet need to touch the ground. :)
Today, was also the day they celebrated Jack’s summer birthday at pre-school. He was excited to bring cupcakes to share with his friends.

Jack rides!
Finally, Jack decided that bike riding was for him. Out of the blue today he asked to ride his bike (that I’ve been trying desperately to get him to ride for the past year!) He’s pretty good too. Just hopped on and away he went.

Happy Mother’s Day!
My day started a bit earlier than I would have liked, but it did include breakfast in bed (what!?! That’s never happened before!) before Kevin had to go work the nursery at church.
We’re a pretty good lookin’ bunch!
Later in the day, Kevin showed off his mad skateboarding skills to the neighborhood kids.

Playing at the park
We went to the bakery for some yummy treats after I rode my bike to the Y for a good butt kicking and then rode it back up the treacherous hill. Then, we played at the park.

Messy day
I took Jack for a ride in the bike trailer this morning. I neglected to think about the impact of the puddles on him. Oops! He didn’t even notice or complain so I guess it’s all good. Nothing a washcloth and wardrobe change can’t fix! He’s also outgrown his super cute Jamaican soccer team set. :(
Unfortunately, the night came to a quick stop when the sirens sounded after the kids’ dentist appointments. I have decided that I’m just keeping the room under the stairs equipped with blankets on the floor for all of the fantastic tornado sightings of the coming month. That way it’ll be ready and I’ll save some effort too. Luckily, the nasty tornado touched down farther away from us and went around us. Lauren is not good in severe weather, she’s slightly paranoid about tornadoes after learning and studying them in school. But, on the brightside, after the nasty storm passed, the weather outside was gorgeous and we got to play out in it a bit longer.

Ride your bike to school day
Lauren wasn’t able to ride the 2+ miles to school this morning (scheduling and whatnot) but I did meet her afterschool with her bike and we both rode home together. She needed a big snack after all that work.
