Every little boy needs a suit, right? Jack was not impressed (actually he was a bit irritated I took him away from the toys he was playing with to try the darn thing on.)

The phonebooth
During a random trip to the cities (to check out open houses with my parents) we stopped at the huge candy store for treats. I just love this phone booth. I want one!

Birthday Bean
Happy 7th birthday to the birthday bean!!
Tonight we started tearing up our landscaping to move some stuff around and generally improve the look of it. Phil couldn’t help but come over and get to work (which was super awesome as many hands make light work!!)

My weird sleeper
Here’s Jack just sleeping away. Yes, he still wears a diaper at bedtime. He doesn’t have bladder control for that length of time yet.

Sprinkle Time
I think Kevin was really more interested in giving his dead/dying grass some water, but was being a bit sly about it so he suggested the kids run through the sprinkler (and then set up an actual sprinker in addition to the fun hose.)

Fun day with the Loraas fam!
Today, Chayme and I met up with the kids at Edinborough park. It’s such a fun place for the kids to play with the giant climber and the gym.

Fun days part deux
This morning Lauren and Kevin walked the parade route and stickered for our friend Dave Kruse. Then Jack and I enjoyed the parade while Kev took Lauren home (as she was getting picked up to go to the Laura Ingalls Wilder festival with her good buddy Harper.)
After a fun meal with the Larson’s I busted out the vitamix and made some Mango daiquiri's for all. I also tried to take a pic of me with the super moon but the bugs were just too much so I gave up and sped away quickly.

Randoms
With all of the free time I’ve had this week I managed to water treat the play set, paint a couple of walls and bake some cookies. Jack needs to visit the grandparents while Lauren is at science day camp more often. Woot Woot! Oh, and I randomly ran into my Grandpa Jack today at the grocery store. He was getting new tires on his vehicle. So I went through the grocery store again, this time with him.
Here’s Lauren on the wall at science camp. My painting project (looks a million times better on those two walls!) Also, after dropping Lauren at science camp I took my bike for a ride on a trail I’d never gone on before (and got a good look at the giant tire man/swing on the highway.)

Bye Jack!
Today, we said goodbye to Jack for a few days. He’s heading up to Duluth to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Thompson. He’s super excited and has been asking about this for what FEELS like a year. We almost never tell the kids when something like this is coming up (especially Jack as he’s just incapable of anything dealing with time it seems) as it’s just too much anxiety on their parts. Somehow he found out about it though and has been incessantly asking if it was today. Well finally, it’s today!
After Jack left we headed to the MOA to have some fun with Lauren. She’s finally tall enough to hit up all the BIG rides and boy was she excited!

Bubye Hockey Hair!
I already miss it! :( PS Yes, he’s wearing his awesome cowboy boots with shorts. Cutest look ever!
Here’s Lauren helping me chop up some meat. We tried out a friend rice recipe from Tiny and Russ (and it was DELISH!)

Happy 4th!
I spent a good 15 minutes on this hairstyle, it deserves a big pic!!
We really enjoyed the fireworks we brought back from Oklahoma. They were pretty inexpensive and were fun to watch. I guess you could say they were a good bang for the buck. Bwaahahahah!

On the road again
Some light reading I picked up for the drive home (Kevin insisted upon donuts even after we’d had breakfast and the curb was line with so many of those machine things where they have the magazines inside.) Jack’s first nap of the day. It was probably somewhere around Kansas or Missouri.
A bunch of random pics that spoke to me at the time. I think the Kearney one made me think of Oregon trail in Elementary school. Kevin was kind enough to drive the ENTIRE drive home (as long as I was the one to service the children’s needs.) I think it was a good trade off. :)
The pic I sent to Tiny to let her know we had arrived home. We chose not to leave Texas quite so early this time so we did get home a bit later, but it worked out well as the kids *eventually* fell asleep. Lauren conked out first and Jack was the hold out (as usual.) It’s probably because he’ll nap during the drive (unlike his sister.)
