A Winter’s walk

Today, we went for a walk with The Larson’s.   It was our first walk with P&J since the twins were born.  Boy were they were cute snuggled in the back of the stroller together.  Poor Jack, he was bundled beyond reason but I wanted him to be warm in the front.  He had on his fleece bunting suit (which is now a bit too small) a hat, his carseat cover (over the top of the seat totally surrounding him) and a blanket over the top of it.  I think he was ok.

The Children’s museum

Today, we met our friends at the Children’s Museum.  Lauren just loves the new Tapescape (made entirely of tape from 3m-think saran wrap and packaging tape.)  Lauren also loved playing with all of her friends, but especially Elliot, who was visiting from Chicago.

Jack even had some “baby” playmates.  I just love our group of friends!  We already have built in friends for the 2nd children too.

After lunch, it was time for some food.  We all headed over to the Pizza ranch and filled an entire room (there were many more not in the photo.)  Elliot asked Lauren if she would sit by him (so cute!)

After lunch, the kiddos ran in the gym at PR and we socialized and watched them through the observation window.

Bath for 2?

I had, what I like to think of as a brilliant idea, while visiting my parents with both kids (something we haven’t done since Jack was about 2 months old.)  My thoughts, “Wouldn’t it be super cute to get a pic of both kids in the sink taking a bath?” (Sidenote, Lauren has always loved to take a bath in the sink at Gaga’s.)  So, we decided to give it a go.  Me, armed with my camera and Kev and my mom with a kid each, embarked on this wet wet journey together.

It started out well enough.

But, I may have filled his side of the sink with a *bit* too much water.  Did I forget to mention, Jack is a splasher?  Ooops!

Oh, the carnage water!  I’m not even showing the worst of it.  Seriously, the toaster may never work again.  Sorry ‘bout that!

Lauren had to close her eyes and this is my mom’s arm coming in to try to mop up the water.  Shortly after this the pictures had to stop so we could get the kids washed up and out.  It was fun while it lasted.

Comparisons

IMG_3222

A pic of a pic compared to a pic.  Lauren is in the pink (obvs) at 6mos and Jack is in the blue at 6 months.  Yes, I planned Jack’s outfit to be like Lauren’s, I’m just like that.  I like to recreate photographs.  See the resemblance?  Don’t mind the fairly heinous photos of me from my school days on the left.

Visit to Windom

IMG_3189

This weekend we took a trip to Windom for a quick visit (and a trip to have my hair done and our taxes prepared.)  Jack had a hard time going to sleep (the crib mattress absolutely sucks.)  So, Kevin laid down with him in the twin bed and helped him calm down and go to sleep.  Since he is used to rolling over and snuggling with his crib bumper,Lauren’s Elmo had to do instead.

This may be the first time my Dad has changed one of Jack’s diapers.  He always comes up with some kind of excuse to get out of it.

Lucky Jack had his first bite of cake already.  I guess he has nothing to look forward to on his first birthday now.  Jack loves big people food and prefers to feed himself when he can.

Here he is nom’ing some of Lauren’s play food.

Lauren enjoyed the free popcorn and the baby animals at the Farm and home show.

Bath time

Ohhhh those baby buns!  So kissable and squishy.

The opposite of…

IMG_3169IMG_3178

I had to take this picture. I found it incredibly ironic that Lauren was wearing this outfit on the day she was such a huge stinker!!  My friend Carrie came for a quick visit with her two children.  Lauren loved playing with Charlie and talked about him for the rest of the day.  She didn’t get on so well with Audrey though, it must be the girl hormones or something.

Anyhow, back to the grown with love set.  I’m such a sucker for this old gymboree line (from 2004!)  She’ll have at least one outfit from GWL in every size until she outgrows Gymbo (or forms an opinion, I’m hoping for the former and not the latter.)

Yes, it’s time for the weekly paper eating photograph.  Enjoy!
