Today, we had a Schmit family belated Christmas celebration at my Grandpa’s apartment complex.  I made a feast and we ate too much food and chatted all day long.

Merry Christmas Eve

My Grandpa hasn’t been well lately, so we made the trip to my parent’s place for Christmas this year instead of having it at our house.  I much prefer to have it at our house.  Maybe next year we’ll go on that vacation over Christmas instead like we’ve been talking about for like 3 years now.

Run Run Reindeer

I saw this cute idea online and made my own last night, very quickly using whatever I had on hand.  Luckily, I had some giant googly eyes.

Kiwanis Holiday Lights

We forgot our skates, so we couldn’t try out the synthetic ice rink again this year. Ooops.

Krumkake

This morning Kevin and Lauren made some Krumkake.  This afternoon we watched the Maverick football team get killed in the National c’ship. :(  I guess I’m glad I couldn’t convince Kev to make the drive down for the championship game.  I guess there’s always next year (and they wouldn’t be a team from MN if they didn’t disappoint me.)

Santa pics

After school today, we trekked to the Mall to visit with Santa.  Lauren asked Santa for a purple desk chair and Jack asked Santa for a bow and arrow.  I hope the jolly fat man can deliver. 

I also got the hair brained idea to try to take a pic of them blowing glitter.  I’d seen it done by a professional photog and though, “hey, it’s worth a try.”  There’s a reason that photography isn’t what I do.  What a mess!
