Finally Friday
Here is Lauren in her purple hair before school today. She thinks it’s pretty fun to wear purple hair. It never lasts more than a few hours though. You can see in the other pics that it was gone after school.

Crazy Lauren
Lauren was really hyper tonight. She was running all around Jack’s bedroom acting like a crazy 4 year old. I had to take some pictures of course. Jack was…well he was “just jack.”

School field trip
Lauren went on a field trip to the apple orchard again this year. I had to snap this adorable picture of her getting off of the bus. They are just so small!

Another Monday
I just love the pic of Jack with the hockey stick. Kevin says if he’s going to have hockey hair he had better actually play hockey (ahahha!)

Sunday
This morning Dad and I went for a run to try out the trail we’ll be running for the Mankato Marathon 5k. It won’t be nearly as brutal as the course for the mud run. Later Gaga and papa took in a beanitude soccer game. Jack really wants to get on the field and play during her games, it’s very difficult to keep him entertained and off the field.

The MUD run
Today, Kevin and Dad participated in the Mankato 5k Mud run. It looked like a lot of fun and I’m definitely going to do it next year. Here is dad checking out the depth of the mud pit pre-race. It was about 18 inches along the edge and deeper in the middle.
Here they are right out of the gate. The first obstacle was this pile of tires. I love the 2nd picture of Kev. He was literally jumping over them.
After they ran by, we continued to play on the playground and then made our way over to the mud pit for the big finale.
About 20 short minutes later Dad came up the devil of a hill, over the 2 walls and into the mud. Geez, he was fast!
Kevin’s approach to the mud pit was to take a leap as far as he could into it.
Of course after they finished, they looked drastically different. Dad ended up taking 2nd place in his age division.

Sleepy Jack
My little sprouty fell asleep after some morning shopping with mama. He slept all the way through picking Lauren up and pre-school and even for awhile once we got home. I guess the poor guy was really needing that snooze.

Curlers
I bought a set of rollers for Lauren. We tried them out today and they worked. I think it may be a fun look for her for photos. Her natural curls are almost gone (which makes me very sad.) Some days they are there and others her hair is almost straight. We’re still on the lookout for the best curly hair product for her. Pantene seems to be the only conditioner that works well in her hair (just like mommy.)
Guest Blogger: Rainbow fish
Hi, it’s rainbow fish. I’m the mascot for Lauren’s pre-school classroom. Lauren brought me home on Wednesday after school and we’ve done quite a few fun things together.
We shared some apple juice after we got home from school. Lauren even gave me my own glass, but she told me I had to pretend since I can’t really have juice.
We went for a bike ride and checked the mail. I got to ride in the basket on Lauren’s bike.
After dinner, I rode with Lauren (back to 5 c’s) for Awana. I had to wait in the van while she went to class. Lauren’s mommy is very particular about car seats, I thought she was going to buckle me up too.
After Awana, Lauren showed me the vest she earned. She was very excited. Soon, it was bedtime and I was glad because it was a long day.
On Thursday, we got up and had breakfast. Then, we visited Lauren’s Gaga & Papa (who live about an hour away.) Roadtrip!! We played and had a pretend tea party. Lauren’s little brother Jackson even had a cup.
Lauren showed me her favorite book at Gaga’s house.
After we ate lunch, we went for another ride in the van to another town and did some shopping. Then, we went to a park and played. Lauren showed me a really neat old house.
I had a good time with Lauren (and her little brother too.) Lauren was worried that I would get cold, she thought I could use a coat or a blanket.
