“Unca Noel”

Lauren was completely psyched to see her Uncle Noel again.  Jack had no clue what he was in for but followed Lauren’s lead and was excited too.  Well, it took Jack all of about 4 seconds to cozy up to “Unca Noel” and give him lots of love.  Kevin and I were equally excited for some quality time with Noel as  he doesn’t come back to MN as often as everyone would like.  We were able to enjoy an entire day with Noel and it was fantastic.

Everyone had a good time at the playground, even the overgrown man-children.

We enjoyed some sushi and hibachi food-tainment for dinner and it was splendid.

After Noel left at around 11:30 pm it took Kevin about 13 seconds to say,  “Man, I miss Noel!”  Thanks for the visit “Unca Noel” The first words out of Jack’s mouth the next morning were, “Where’s Unca Noel?”

My 1st iPhone

Yes, laugh all you want, but I finally got an iPhone.  It was worth setting the alarm for 2am a few days ago as I may be the first person I know to receive it (and a gold one at that!)  So far, the switch has been pretty painless and I’m enjoying it.

The zoo day

After another stop at the fun candy store we were off to Como Zoo.

The kids loved watching the seals and sea lions.  The highlight for me, was the baby giraffe.

After finishing up at the zoo and gardens and the park, we took Gaga and Papa over to the MOA so they could experience the fun of Nickelodeon Universe too.

I tried something new with Lauren’s hair today.  It looked really cute when she left for school but it was wrecked when she came home. It must have been a rough day.

This year at soccer they play 4 on 4 and usually one person will play defense.  Lauren seems to like playing defense.

Jack’s 1st day

Jack was ready to go to school today.  He was excited to go see his teacher Mrs. Steele and “cut food” (play in the kitchen.)  He had a great day and can’t wait to go back again on Friday. :)

American Girl

Today, was an exciting day for Lauren.  We started off with a stop at MN’s largest candy store and then went to a Matilda Jane Trunk show.  After that, it was off to the Mall of America for dinner at the American Girl store.  It was sooo cute and such a fun time.  She brought her doll Marie Grace and borrowed one of their dolls as well.  They really cater to the kids there.

After dinner, Lauren and I rode a couple of rides and then it was off to the concert.

Taylor Swift

The show was amazing and perfect for Lauren’s first concert.  The seats were great and I appreciate that Taylor isn’t charging over $100 for the best seats (like she surely could!!)  Of course once you add in the fees and everything…  That being said, it was the most amazing concert ever and I wouldn’t hesitate to shell out more money next time to see her again. 

It was a very late night, but she made it back to the car before passing out (she was snoring before we hit the ramp to exit the parking garage.)

Tonight, the kids participated in an event at Scheel’s.  They did the mini-class, “How fudge is made.” It was fun for them to watch and then they got to bring home their own yummy fudge at the end.
