A little bathroom work

IMG_5574

Jack helped me change the knobs in the bathroom today.  All that is left is the faucet and light fixture (and those projects are waiting for my dad since he knows more about those types of things.)

Yes, I have a thing for geometrical patterns of varying colors.  The turnaround time on the bathroom was about 2 days and I did it pretty much by myself (Kevin did help to hang the new towel fixtures.)  I painted one wall blue and then put another coat of the same tan color on a wall that needed refreshing (honestly the other 2 walls could use refreshing as well, it’s on my list.)

Cutest thing ever!

IMG_0120

It was a crazy day for us today.  Lauren had ice skating lessons this morning.  Then, we came directly home to change clothes and head to a birthday party for Lauren’s friend Brooke (from her kindergarten class and soccer team.)  They had the party at a local dance studio and it was so well done and adorable.  While Lauren was at the party, I ran around town quickly buying up everything I could find that may possibly match a shower curtain that I picked up on a whim. (Nothing like a last minute idea to redecorate the bathroom with a very strict time limit to finish it.)  After the shopping frenzy I picked Lauren up from the party a few minutes early and we high tailed it to Windom for my cousin’s baby shower.  She’s having twin boys (!!)  This was Lauren’s first baby shower and I was a little bummed out that there weren’t the traditional silly shower games (but can’t fault the mama-to-be as I didn’t want them at my baby shower either) that I told Lauren there could possible be.  Here is a cute photo of Lauren holding a different cousin’s little sweetie, Liberty.  Liberty is 9 months old and very attached to her mama, so she didn’t appreciate the stranger holding her.  After the shower we visited with Gaga and Papa and then made the drive back home.

Snuggle time

Here are the kids (on our bed) having some snuggle time tonight.  They decided that Lauren’s sleeping bag was the perfect size to share (!)

Ice Skating

DSCN2310

Today, Lauren started ice skating lessons.  They were comical but I’m so glad someone else is teaching her.  She wanted to play hockey this year (a cute program called “chicks with sticks”,) but I felt like she should at least have skating lessons first.  Our godson and neighbor Mark is also in her class (Phil was a hockey player so he’s starting young!)

Lauren’s first Hockey game

Tonight, Kevin took Lauren to her first Maverick hockey game (along with Phil and Mark.)

She had a great time and loved watching the cheerleaders (but was too shy to stand up and dance with them.)

Turtle time

IMG_0047

Every time the kids take a bath they like to be “turtles” when they get out (they hide under the towels and peek their heads out like a turtle.)  I had always thought to myself while in child’s post during yoga, “Why do they call it child’s pose, I don’t think my kids do this.” DUH! Of course they do.  It’s the preferred sleeping position of lil babies worldwide.

A Bit random….I couldn’t find a few toys earlier and they magically appeared after I emptied Jack’s hamper.  Surprise!!

A big day

IMG_0038

This morning Lauren had another photo shoot for Rilla Rose designs.  I’ll share some of the photos with you all once I get them back.  It went well.  Lauren did a good job following directions and looked cute in the clothes.IMG_5281

After we got back it was time to take down the Christmas tree.

Lauren stuffed a bumpy ball into her shirt and said, “Look mommy, I’m having a baby!” OMG!

Better late than never

The kids are really enjoying the playhouse that Santa Claus brought them.  So far, their favorite game is to play nap time with blankets and pillows.

We finally made the rice krispies houses tonight (instead of gingerbread houses.)  They will be snacked on for the next couple of days…yum!
