Thursday pre-school

IMG_0543

Another day of pre-school for beanitude, another picture of her on the steps.  How long can/will I keep it up?

Ok, I’ll admit it.  I’m obsessed with matching pajamas on my kids (and even Kev & I too!)  I don’t know where it comes from.  I’m not a twin and have no inborn need to dress things alike.  My only thought is that it stems from being an only child and never having a sibling to coordinate with for  Christmas cards and  whatnot.  Either way, now that I have 2 kids, you can expect a lot more coordinating/matching kiddo pics as I just can’t help myself.  We already have matching Thanksgiving and Christmas jammies in the drawers, so be on the lookout for more bean & sprout cuteness soon.

Preschool/weekly pic

IMG_0525 IMG_0530

Lauren took her first school field trip today.  They went to the apple orchard.  I would have dressed her in one of her adorable apple outfits, but it’s way too cold out at 9am.

Jack wasn’t feeling his weekly picture, but did enjoy a little time in his exer saucer.

Sleeping angel

IMG_0517

He just looks so sweet when he’s sleeping.  Especially when it’s about 4pm and it’s the first bit of rest he’s taken since 9am.

A little Lauren love too…

Playtime

IMG_0512 IMG_0514

Lauren decided that she wanted to help her brother with tummy time (and playtime tonight.)  You can’t see it very well but she’s holding a little mirror in front of his face.  Jack is getting stronger but still really hates to be on his tummy.

More Family weekend

IMG_0505

We got to the game early so we decided to join the non-tailgaters and have some food across the street.  Lauren was super excited to meet Stomper the Maverick.  She just gushed after meeting him and was so observant.  I barely even noticed but she kept talking about how he was number one.

IMG_0506 IMG_0508

Yes, I’m wearing my earmuffs, it was chilly windy and I have sensitive ears, don’t mock me!

IMG_0510

We stayed for the first half and through half-time and then left.  Jack woke up at the beginning of half-time so he got to enjoy the dance team’s performance as well.

Family Weekend

IMG_0500

Lauren decided to make silly faces in the toy box with cowgirl Jessie.

It’s family weekend at MSU so we decided to partake in some of the activities of my alma mater.  Tonight, we took Lauren to the movie Toy Story 3.  It was a great movie and Lauren did pretty well for an hour, but we could tell she was about to hit her limit, so we decided to leave.  I wish I knew how it ended.

I love this self-took picture.  Lauren was definitely more interested in the popcorn than smiling for a picture.

Playtime with mommy

IMG_0495 Tonight, I took Lauren to the mall for some playtime with me.  Kevin and I are trying to have some one-on-one Lauren time at least one night per week.  Since I take Jack to baby massage on Tuesday nights, Kev and Lauren have that built into their schedule.

Having two children was a big transition for us and for her.  We’re still learning how to parent both of them at the same time and it’s difficult (at best) most days.  It feels like one of them is always being neglected at some point or another.  It’s definitely getting easier, but is still challenging (especially with our 3-going-on 13 year old little girl.)

Talking on the phone

IMG_0494

I was on the phone today and Jack was talking and just so happy that I put the phone up to him so my mom could hear.  They had a nice conversation, he was super excited to hear her voice and smiled a lot.  It was totally adorable!

3 months

We overslept this morning.  I guess I  need to stop relying on my natural alarm clock and use an *actual* alarm clock.  I woke up at exactly 9:01 am.  I dropped Lauren off at preschool at 9:15 am.  How’d I manage to get all 3 of us out of the house and to school in that amount of time?  It’s a secret!  I even took a minute for our pre-school ritual of a picture on the stairs before throwing (not literally) her in the van and zooming off to school (which is only about 1 mile away, convenient, huh?)

Sleepy time

IMG_0483IMG_0484

Upon arriving home from work tonight, this is what I was greeted with.  Sprout passed out an hour early (he usually goes to bed at 9pm.)  I was sad to miss our last feeding together before bedtime, but glad he was sleeping peacefully.  He didn’t sleep much today so he was probably overtired.  Kevin swaddled him up and put him to bed shortly after this, now he’s peacefully snoozing in his crib…wee precious baby.  3 month picture to come tomorrow.  I don’t plan to have his professional 3 month pictures done until he can hold his head up (or around Oct 16th, whichever comes first.)

13 weeks

More of the cutest.sprout.ever!  I forgot to take the picture earlier today, so instead of the cute outfit he had on, you’re a getting jammied sprout.

Another Tuesday

IMG_0473 IMG_0476

Here are the pictures of the day: Lauren on the steps before pre-school and Jackson and me at infant massage class.  Tuesday is definitely my favorite day of the week.  I just love the infant massage class.  It’s so nice to take some time out of the day to rub my sweet baby.  It’s very relaxing and Jack seems to enjoy it as well.  Check out all the precious babies!

Brother and sister

IMG_0466 IMG_0467

IMG_0469

More coordinating brother and sister goodness.  As you all know, I love things to match or coordinate as much as possible.   Well, Lauren had this adorable GAP Product (RED) set last year that I knew would still fit her again this year.  Of course, that meant I had to find the coordinating baby boy set for Jack.  Lauren’s set says Ado(red) and Jack’s says Treasu(red).  There was some beanitude bribery involved in the taking of these pictures.  I’m not above photo bribery (or bribery in general these days, LMAO!)  Can’t wait for the Janie & Jack Little Pumpkin coordinating pics coming up soon.  EEK… pumpkin fair isle, can you resist the cuteness?

The high chair

IMG_0459

IMG_0461 IMG_0462

Today, desperation to eat a meal with my family inspired me to bust out the high chair.  Yes, the high chair that I’ve complained requires a Ph.D to operate is getting easier to use.  It’s still nowhere as easy and user friendly as our old one, but it sure matches our house nicely. *snort*  In the future, I’ll try to remember the great high chair debacle when making purchases.  Jackson has been pretty fussy for the past week, so I was surprised when sitting him down in the high chair worked.  I like the bottom picture as it’s the view from the tray of the chair.  I’m easily amused.

Garden stones

IMG_0451 IMG_0454 IMG_0455

Today, we finally got around to finishing up the garden stone project.  I bought this set months ago in hopes of making garden stones for the grandparents with footprints of both of the kids.  Well, they were uncooperative in that department and the plaster was not conducive to a re-try, so we settled for the design that came in the package.  Lauren had a good time painting it nevertheless.

Sprout Hugs

IMG_0449

Lauren asked to hold Jackson today.  Progress, maybe?  When she was done holding him (about 10 seconds) she almost threw him on the ground (progress: ok maybe not.)

Holy cow

IMG_0497 IMG_0498

These pictures of Jack and Lauren together (both smiling, or at least both not wailing uncontrollably) may not seem like much, but we treasure every moment that Lauren is not freaking out and is voluntarily pushing her baby brother in his swing.  This morning, she woke up happy (praise the Lord) and decided that her brother was ok to hang out with for awhile.  I, of course, had to document it on camera.

At the zoo

IMG_0408 IMG_0411

Lauren did not enjoy herself at the zoo. In fact, we felt like she needed to be put behind bars in the zoo after her behavior at said zoo.  I think we’ll be skipping the zoo next time…

IMG_0418

I really enjoyed seeing the baby giraffe (soo cute!) and watching these baby tigers have a snack.
