Singin’ in the rain

IMG_0267

Lauren decided that she needed to help Daddy put together the new deck furniture.  We sold our other set because it just wasn’t heavy duty enough for our windy weather.  We also didn’t use the table and chairs as much as we thought so we went with some deep seating instead.  Unfortunately, it started to sprinkle during the process.  Lauren didn’t mind though, a little raingear goes a long way.  I’m going to be so sad when it’s time (which it is right now) to sell this rain coat and boots.  They were super hard to find (I never did find the matching umbrella) and we just loved them.  I guess it’s time to start searching for her next set.

Later tonight, while Lauren and I were playing dollhouse I took a picture of myself (why I had my camera with me downstairs is anybody’s guess.)  She then wanted her picture taken too, but wouldn’t stand still for me to take it.  Believe it or not, this is the best I could do.  At least her hair is cute.

No smiles from Jackson McQuinn this week, barely a smirk.

Back to school party

IMG_0255 IMG_0256

Today, we went to a MOMS Club back to school party.  It was a ton of fun. There was a big inflatable waterslide too.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get a picture of Lauren on it.  She only went down it once, but said it was fun.

Super cute piggies

IMG_0239 IMG_0242

Oh, low piggies, where have you been all of Lauren’s life?  Why am I just trying you out now, at age 3?  I think you’re adorable and glad my friend (and photographer) Jessica suggested them!

Oh, and here’s little surfside sprout sporting his board shorts.  He was ready for the beach today, too bad we don’t have one nearby.

He is much more smiley and interactive this week.  He enjoys being sung to and snuggling with mommy.

Lauren’s new Matilda Jane

IMG_0229 IMG_0230

God, I’m such a sucker for this brand!!  I love it all.  Then, I don’t buy it all and regret it when I see it in IRL pictures on other clothing obsessed mommy’s children and then it’s really hard to find.  Anywho, enough rambling.  Here is Lauren’s new Matilda Jane outfit.  I totally love the colors on her and wish I would have ordered the Mommy mossy willow jacket so we could match.  Is that lame?

Gooooo Vikings!

IMG_0202

Well, it’s that time of year again.  The time of year when temperatures get cooler and my husband makes a habit of weekly cries and yells of a profane nature (at the television.)  Yep, it’s Vikings football season.  This year, I’ve decided to embrace it and am planning to watch the games too.  I even picked up some cute Vikings gear from Victoria’s Secret (not the naughty kind, the PINK sweat pant kind, LOL!)  Unfortunately, I forgot to take a family picture of us all sporting the purple and gold.  So, until next week, the Sprout and Daddy snuggling up after the Beanitude was in bed will have to do.

Lauren & Daddy Blog: It’s Donut time!

Today we had a great idea: let’s make some donuts!  My daddy got a donut making machine from his special mommy and her secret recipe for yummy moist cake donuts that aren’t greasy and taste great with coffee.  And guess what…I got to help daddy make them.  Here I am holding the recipe card and breaking some eggs for daddy.

Next I got to stir some eggs and sugar and measure out some flour.  Daddy helped me a little bit with this part.

Here I am watching butter melt in the microwave and stirring up the finished batter.

And now for the best part…licking the spoon and eating the finished donuts.

Big thanks to Georgie for giving that donut machine to daddy so I could eat these delicious donuts.

Not amused, Mama!

Sprout didn’t find this as funny as I did.  I just love this adorable baby boden romper.  It’s so cute, I thought it was worthy of it’s own picture.

What a big girl

IMG_0166

What a big girl.  I can’t believe how old she looks in these jammies.  Then, add the french braids?  She must be ready for college.  Kev was super shocked that she sat still long enough for me to put these in.  She was really patient with the first one.  Unfortunately, her patience ran out in time for the second one (that’s why it looks a bit wonky!)  Her hair will be interesting to see tomorrow morning since I put these in with wet hair.

Sunday in Duluth

IMG_0112

Check out Mommy’s monkey!  I could just eat him up, he’s soooo precious!

Today, we did some photo recreating.  Lauren made her first trip to Duluth when she was 7 weeks old too.

If nothing else, I’ve learned a little bit more about my camera since then.

Grandpa John also introduced Jackson to all of his great woodworking tools in the garage.
